Hoy volveremos a trabajar la pronunciación en inglés, especialmente las vocales, con algunos tongue twisters divertidos. Hace poco publiqué otro episodio dedicado a los trabalenguas.

¡Muy bien! Empecemos.
Primero, un recordatorio: un tongue twister es una frase difícil de decir rápidamente porque contiene palabras con sonidos muy parecidos.
Por ejemplo: «Annie ate eight Arctic apples.»
Los tongue twisters nos permiten practicar pronunciation y, sobre todo, agility al producir sonidos.
Si quieres acercarte más a la pronunciación del inglés americano, es importante distinguir bien las vocales. Los trabalenguas de esta lección te ayudarán a practicar varios sonidos asociados a las letras a, e, o y u.
Como con cualquier trabalenguas, puedes aumentar la velocidad poco a poco, pero la prioridad debe ser mantener una pronunciación clara y cometer pocos errores.
Bien. Veamos algunos tongue twisters. Primero los diré despacio y después aumentaré la velocidad.
Al principio pueden parecer muy difíciles. No pasa nada. Ten el texto delante, escucha varias veces y practica a tu ritmo.
1. Excited executioner exercising his excising powers excessively.
2. Annie ate eight Arctic apples.
3. Mary Mac's mother's making Mary Mac marry me. My mother's making me marry Mary Mac. Will I always be so merry when Mary's taking care of me? Will I always be so merry when I marry Mary Mac?
4. Picky people pick Peter Pan Peanut-Butter,' tis the peanut-butter picky people pick!
5. I wish to wish, I dream to dream, I try to try, and I live to live, and I'd die to die, and I cry to cry, but I don't know why.
6. Near an ear, the nearer ear a nearly eerie ear.
