Un compliment es un comentario positivo sobre una cualidad, un detalle o algo que apreciamos de otra persona. Un buen cumplido puede ser cariñoso, divertido, ingenioso o simplemente sincero.
Lo importante no es aprender frases para impresionar a cualquiera, sino entender el tono. Un cumplido funciona mejor cuando es respetuoso, auténtico y apropiado para la relación que tienes con esa persona.
#1 “I don’t have a favorite color. It’s pretty much whatever you are wearing.”
Es una forma juguetona de decir que te gusta cómo le queda la ropa a tu pareja. Tiene sentido cuando ya existe confianza.
#2 “I can’t take my eyes off of you…”
La expresión can’t take my eyes off you significa que alguien te parece tan atractivo o interesante que no puedes dejar de mirarlo.
Puede sonar romántica, pero conviene usarla solo en un contexto donde ese tipo de comentario sea bien recibido.
#3 “I’d be so happy to spend every minute of every day with you, but some days I have to do things.”
El humor está en exagerar lo mucho que disfrutas de la compañía de la otra persona y después volver a la realidad.
#4 “If you knew how much I think about you, I would be very embarrassed.”
Es un cumplido directo y bastante tierno para expresar que esa persona ocupa mucho espacio en tus pensamientos.
#5 “It’s not easy to be me. Which is why I need you.”
Un comentario deliberadamente exagerado y divertido que puede funcionar bien dentro de una relación con mucho humor.
#6 “I think the hardest part about being your friend is pretending as though I like my other friends as much as I like you.”
Aquí el cumplido consiste en decir que esa amistad es especialmente importante. Ojo con el contexto: no hace falta rebajar a otras personas para expresar afecto.
#7 “You might be the primary reason for global warming.”
Es una broma basada en la palabra hot. Puede resultar graciosa o demasiado atrevida según la relación, así que el tono y la confianza importan.
#8 “If there is one thing I like about you, it’s that I like more than one thing about you.”
Una manera ingeniosa de decir que te gustan muchas cosas de alguien.
La expresión head over heels significa estar profundamente enamorado, a menudo de forma repentina.
#9 “Talking to you is the best part of my day…”
Un cumplido sencillo que pone el foco en lo bien que te sientes hablando con esa persona.
#10 “You know what’s awesome? Chocolate cake, oh, and your face.”
