Hola a todos. Soy Georgiana, tu profesora de inglés. Mi misión es ayudarte a hablar inglés con fluidez.
Hoy continuaré con algunas de las palabras en inglés que más gustan a mis alumnos.
Después tendrás una lección de punto de vista para practicar gramática de una forma mucho más natural.
Si no has escuchado la primera parte de este tema, puedes hacerlo cuando quieras. En esta segunda parte veremos nuevas palabras y expresiones.
Empecemos.
“Faithfully”.
Faithful significa fiel, leal o constante. Me gusta especialmente porque muchos estudiantes me acompañan durante mucho tiempo mientras mejoran su inglés.
También aparece en despedidas formales como:
“Yours faithfully.”
“Skills”.
Skills significa habilidades o destrezas.
Por ejemplo:
“How do you improve your English-speaking skills?”
La respuesta está en la práctica: escuchar mucho, repetir y utilizar el idioma de forma constante.
“Peace”.
Peace significa paz: ausencia de hostilidad o violencia y, en un sentido más amplio, una situación de armonía y convivencia.
“Energy”.
Todos queremos tener más energy. Si estamos cansados nos cuesta trabajar, estudiar o concentrarnos. Por eso muchas personas recurren al café cuando no han dormido suficiente, aunque lo ideal sigue siendo descansar bien.
“Delightful”.
Delightful describe algo o alguien muy agradable, encantador o placentero.
Ejemplos:
“What a delightful day!”
“What a delightful surprise!”
“I wish you a delightful evening.”
“What a delightful person!”
Es una palabra elegante y muy útil en distintos contextos.
“Beautiful”.
Beautiful es una palabra fantástica, aunque a veces se utiliza demasiado.
Para ampliar tu vocabulario, puedes aprender alternativas como:
appealing,
gorgeous,
stunning,
ravishing,
pretty,
lovely,
dazzling,
attractive,
good-looking.
“Amazing”.
Amazing describe algo que causa una gran impresión o sorpresa.
Algunos sinónimos son impressive, excellent o astonishing.
Ejemplos:
“What an amazing picture you have here.”
“Ann was very impressive in the interview.”
“Her facility for languages is astonishing.”
“He congratulated me for my excellent exam results.”
“Success”.
Success significa éxito.
Para mí, el éxito no consiste únicamente en conseguir objetivos profesionales. También puede significar tener un impacto positivo en la vida de tu familia, tus alumnos o las personas que te rodean.

“Compassion”.
Compassion significa compasión: sentir simpatía, preocupación y humanidad ante el sufrimiento o las dificultades de otras personas.
Ejemplos:
“You should feel some compassion for the victim.”
“I thought she was a hard woman with no compassion, but I’ve changed my mind about her.”
“Hopefully”.
Hopefully se utiliza para expresar esperanza de que algo ocurra.
Dicen que la esperanza es lo último que se pierde, así que no la pierdas con tu inglés. Con práctica constante, seguirás avanzando.

David was such a negative guy that he had never said anything positive in his entire life. This depressed him and took away his energy. Plus, he had no skills, so he could not get a job. So, he was broke, depressed, and with no peace of mind. Poor David! He had many problems.
One day he explained his situation to a friend. His friend gave him some advice. He told David to write positive sentences every day in a journal. If he couldn't think of them, at least he should copy them from some book or newspaper.
So, every day, David spent hours and hours writing positive sentences in his journal and noticed that he was becoming less depressed and more positive!
In the end, something amazing happened. David became passionate about writing positive sentences. He ended up writing over 100,000 delightful phrases. So, he published the journal, and became a successful author.
We hope that David finally got some peace of mind. At least he managed to help many people in a very beautiful way.
