¡Hola! Soy Georgiana, tu profesora de inglés. En este episodio seguimos con los phrasal verbs más frecuentes, esta vez formados con look.
Después practicaremos gramática y vocabulario con una historia POV.
Recuerda que no necesitas memorizar todos los significados posibles. Empieza por los usos más frecuentes.
Look after
Look after significa cuidar de alguien.
Ejemplos: "I can't come with you because I have to look after my brother." / "Who's going to look after the children?"
Look down on
Significa considerar a alguien inferior o pensar que eres mejor que esa persona.
Ejemplos: "It's wrong to look down on people with less money than you." / "My boss always looks down on new employees."
Look for
Look for significa buscar, intentar encontrar algo o a alguien.
Ejemplos: "I'm looking for a dress for the party." / "Some people look for friends on the Internet."
Look up
Significa buscar información, por ejemplo una palabra, una dirección o un número de teléfono.
Ejemplos: "If you don't understand a word in English, you can look it up in a dictionary." / "You could look it up on the Internet."
Look out / Watch out
Se utiliza para avisar de un peligro o decirle a alguien que tenga cuidado.
Ejemplos: "Look out! A dog's coming!" / "Watch out! An earthquake has just started!"
Look into
Look into significa investigar o examinar algo para descubrir más información.
Ejemplos: "The detective looked into the suspect." / "We are looking into how we can improve our department."
Look forward to
Significa esperar algo con ilusión. No lo confundas con look for.
Ejemplos: "I'm really looking forward to our vacation." / "I'm looking forward to seeing you next week."
